DISABILITY

A range of activities are available for disabled individuals and groups. We have experience of working at many events and have worked with children and adults to have a go at developing skills and co-ordination, through to performance athletes working towards Paralympic events.

We are very proud to have been awarded Runner Up in the Contribution to Disability Sport category of the Express & Echo Sports Awards 2012. and also runner up in 2017 in Express and Echo memorable event for our disability festival in 2016.

Inclusive groups

We have a number of groups at Exeter on  Monday nights between 7-8pm at Exeter Arena and a Wednesday from 5-6pm at Exeter Arena, Our inclusive groups are an open session with any age and any ability athlete welcome (no previous experience is necessary). All of our activities are fully inclusive – anyone of any ability. You can just turn up and pay on the door.

We do not offer enabling or medical support so if the person taking part has any specific care or additional needs someone will need to accompany them to the sessions.

Paralympic/Performance Training

We have coached and supported a number of athletes compete at England and UK level with a range of impairments 

Two examples :

Tash Limpit Mead T13(Visually Impaired)

Tash and I worked together starting with sprints and then added long jump. She  was selected to be in the GB Junior team and went to Colarado for an international meeting.

Ethan Kirby T20 (Intellectual impairement)

Ethan has trained with me for a few years now and started as a middle distance runner but now his focus is on 400m and sprints. He has been selected for the Paralympic Progrmme again this year (2023-24) and we ( me and his team at Loughboroug Uni and parents) are working towards selection for the Paris Paralympics.

Annual Disability Festival- Exeter

Every year we organise  a disability festival where anyone can come and have a go at a range of events and activities. We run this jointly with CEDA - a local enabling service and it has been a very popular event over the past 11 years

We ususualy run this event in  the spring / summer of each year
